Yala Peak Climbing via Sherpa Gaon (15 Days)

Here's a Yala Peak Climbing Itinerary via Sherpa Gaon—a scenic and culturally rich route through the Langtang Valley, ideal for those seeking a mix of Sherpa culture, alpine trekking, and a non-technical 5,500m+ climb.

Tour Plan

Yala Peak is one of Nepal’s most accessible trekking peaks, situated within the stunning Langtang Valley close to the Tibetan border. The region is rich in natural beauty, with lush forests, glacial rivers, traditional Tamang villages, and dramatic mountain scenery. The trail to Yala Peak follows the famous Langtang trekking route and passes through Kyanjin Gompa—a serene Buddhist monastery village nestled below towering ice flutings.

From Kyanjin Gompa, climbers acclimatize before moving to Yala Peak Base Camp, located at around 4,800 meters. The summit climb is typically non-technical, requiring only basic mountaineering skills such as walking on snow using crampons and an ice axe. No prior climbing experience is required, though physical fitness and acclimatization are essential.

At the summit, you're rewarded with a spectacular 360-degree panorama that includes Shishapangma (8,027m)—the only 8000-meter peak entirely in Tibet—along with Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Ri, and the Langtang Lirung massif.
